The formula is very simple. Be grateful and forgive.
When I wake up in the morning, I thank God for all the basic things that I have. Our home, food, clothes, water, electricity, etc. are just a few things that I am grateful for.
I need to remind myself that this is my most important job: to be grateful and forgiving. This is the exact formula for multiplying God’s blessings and attracting more life opportunities.
But sometimes it’s really difficult. I ask myself what do I need to be grateful for? It’s easy to come up with a long list of answers. Then I ask myself what do I need to be forgiven for? I have already confessed that and made amends. Then I need to ask myself what do I need to forgive?
There comes the big problem. I am still keeping emotional wounds from way back when. There is a trauma that keeps on coming back. In my mind, she is still insulting me and she is still laughing at what she did to me. Even if the reality is most likely the opposite – she doesn’t think about me at all.
It shows that I’m not a humble person, right? Humility means being able to forgive even the worst offense knowing that our Lord already paid it all in full. But in my mind, I’m still grabbing the offender’s neck saying, “You owe me!”
These are really the kinds of emotions that are blocking God’s graces into my life. I don’t want this feeling. I choose to consciously forgive and let go of the past. Only there are times when I have triggers. Like when I see the news on TV or when I encounter a situation that reminds me of my old wounds.
If I don’t forgive, it will just backfire on me! So I really need to do the inner work and clear my mind and heart of all the resentment, anger, hatred, and self-pity. I must replace these negativities with love, joy, thankfulness, gratitude, and forgiveness.
When I am grateful, I notice that it’s easier for me to see the opportunities and take action. It’s the opposite when I’m not thankful. When I am forgiving, life’s a breeze. It’s easy to be joyful and life moves so fast!! I’m not stuck in the past.
This is a no-brainer, right?
Gratitude + Forgiveness = Prosperity.
