My family and I flew to Tuburan, Cebu and visited our relatives. This is a photo of me that looks like a ghostly apparition or something 😀 By the way, this was taken in Putat.
A few thoughts:
Internet connection is surprisingly fast.
I was blown away. Don’t use Globe’s wifi device tho. I bought one before our flight. It cost me P1,299 and it’s a waste of money. My cousin taught me a trick. We loaded my phone with P50 and registered Supersurf 50 to 8080 valid for one day. Then on my phone, there’s a “Hotspot” feature. My laptop is wifi enabled so I was able to connect it to my phone and voila, fast internet!
Two hours away from Cebu City.
We arrived at Mactan Int’l Airport past 12 midnight then we hired a van to Cebu North Bus Terminal. The bus departed at 1:30 AM and we arrived at my grandparent’s house at 3:30 AM. Lolo and Lola were really happy to see us. I looked up the skies and was amazed because I’ve never seen so many stars in my whole life. Milkyway Galaxy Galore! 😀 We just slept for a few hours and before 7:00 AM, we off to the beach!
Molobolo Cool Spring in Tuburan, Cebu
This is definitely one of the highlights of our family trip. The place was really cool and beautiful although a bit crowded when we visited because it was a Sunday. My nephews had a lot of fun and they didn’t want to go home. If you have plans to visit, bring your own slippers or proper footwear coz the beach’s sand was rocky.
Angelus at 6:15 PM.
My sister-in-law and brother went to bayan to buy some groceries. Tuburan’s bayan is a busy place with plenty of people. They were inside the supermarket when suddenly the church bells started ringing and everyone stopped what they’re doing and bowed their heads. After a minute, they made the sign of the cross and went on with their own activities.
Umang is life, Baby goat is lifer.
Hermit crabs were my nephews’ new friendly pets. You can see hundreds of them at the beach. (No umang was killed or hurt during our stay). However, bebe kambing (kid) was their favorite animal friend.
Nice, friendly locals.
One of the neighbors reported my sister-in-law to our Lola. Apparently, she was very disappointed because she was talking to Cassandra and she said she didn’t get a response. When you’re in the province, you are expected to be approachable and polite. Funny coz Cass can’t remember the incident but she apologized anyway.
A ghostly experience?
One night, my cousins and my siblings started talking about ghosts as well aswang, duwende, engkanto, and all those Philippine mythical creatures. I got really scared so I didn’t want to listen. Annoying coz I had to stay up late that night because I had work to do. I was alone in the living room and I was the only one awake at past 1:00 AM.
Clearly, I heard someone called my name. But there was no one around. I went into the room where my sister and nephews were sleeping. I woke up my sister and I asked her, “why did you call me?” She woke up and said she didn’t and that she’s already sleeping.
I went back to the living room and focused my eyes on the laptop screen. At that moment, I was really scared and I didn’t want to look anywhere coz I might see something 😀 Weird thing about the voice that called my name – it’s my childhood friend’s voice.
The following day, I told my mom about the incident and she said, “Psh! Imagination!” 😀
The True Horror Story that Really Happened!!
We went to bayan to buy some groceries. Then on our way back, my aunt asked me to ride a motorbike (habal-habal). Imagine my horror! I can’t say no to my aunt because I was too shy. So no choice but to sit at the back of the driver. Can’t remember how many Hail Marys I recited along the way 😀
Missed Experiences in Tuburan, Cebu
We wanted to do a lot more activities in Tuburan, Cebu. It’s just that we can stay for only 7 days. What made our days busy was visiting relatives and bonding with cousins and of course, swimming even if we don’t know how to swim. There are many other things to do in Tuburan, Cebu. We definitely want to visit again soon.
